This meet up is about one thing: utilizing off-camera flash with your digital SLR to take compelling photos.
The group will break down light into something that everyone can understand and then apply that knowledge in practical everyday shooting situations. Do you want to take compelling and creative portraits any time of day (regardless of the lighting conditions?) The photographers joining this group will preferably have a strong understanding of aperture, shutter speed, and composition knowledge. If not, the group leader will show you the basics so you can jump in on the fun. The Off Camera Light Meetup is designed for intermediate to advanced photographers to take their photography to the next level with combining available and strobe light.
Gear needed:
dSLR camera, an external flash/strobe, flash trigger and some creativity! Michael Thompson, group leader, can show you how to get gear needed on the cheap. example: used strobes on ebay sell for as little as $20
