Buddhist influenced food dishes from India, China and Malaysia. Plus live music featuring saxophonist Johnty Wilks with special guests playing live chillout indofusion music, chants, sound healing and meditative nu jazz .
You host, Johnty Wilks is a saxophonist and composes and plays indofusion, Ibiza style chillout and meditation music at retreat centres, parties and restaurants. He is also a PhD scientist researching into medicinal plants and is a meditation teacher based on Mindfulness from the Buddhist tradition.
Johnty will also give a short talk on some medicinal and new nutritional plants he is currently researching from India and Mongolia. One is a tonic used in ancient Ayurvedic medicine and the other is a cactus used in tribal communities in Northern India as a natural appetite suppressant for use on long journeys when food can be scarce.
There will also be short meditation session and the opportunity to practice mindfulness meditation while eating (just for a short time at the beginning, eating in silence and blindfolded* with some instruction on mindfulness - a truly blissful experience where inner peace and an explosion of sensory experiences await you!).
*Please bring your own blindfold /scarf/ etc., as these are not provided.
The theme of the evening is a celebration of food, music, meditation and medicinal plants inspired by Eastern culture and Eastern spirituality.
