Hello and welcome to the Twin Cities Energy & Holistic Workers Meetup Group!
Everyone is welcome here, whether you are an experienced healer/worker or just curious and want to learn more.
You will find that this group isn't all "Light and Fluff" nor is it all "Dark and Dirty" ...instead, it is a mixture of all the colors, creating the grey in-between all the colors, contributed to by all the frequencies, and in doing this, you allow for a much more potent and powerful transformation. We also look at the metaphysical things... and work on bringing them into a scientific or "real-world" basis and application.
This is a collaborative group which means it belongs to YOU, the members. Your participation is encouraged, at whatever level feels comfortable to you. Please join in our discussions, post to our message board, ask questions, offer barters, add to the calendar, suggest events or topics.
Each of us has our own path to follow, though the journey is a lot more exciting and fulfilling when we have others to share it with!
We are glad you are here!

Some Goals:
- Position the Twin Cities as a Holistic Health Capital for the United States (within 5 years),
- Within 1 year (so, July 2010), over 500 members, and in 5 years, over 2,500! (As of 5/7/2010: 255 Members on Meetup, 422 members on the Facebook Fan Page)
- Continue to encourage and promote a strong healing community by;
o Continue to promote Healing Trades through Hour Dollars (www.hourdollars.org),
o With <=500, 10 Assistant Organizers, allowing for 2 to 3 meetups a week (each Assistant Organizer then would schedule 1 Meetup/month in various locations & various topics); and with around 2,500, 25 to 30 Assistant Organizers, allow for 1 Meetup a day, and this would allow practitioners, lay and professional, to go to Meetups when they are able to, and have a very wide variety of things going on constantly;
o Helping to attract FREE, low-cost, or by donation introduction workshops on new, progressive (or even commonly used) forms of healing modalities, allowing for practitioners, lay and professionals, to get a taste of the wide variety of modalities out there,
o Assisting starter healing practices (as well as older businesses) with tools to help them become successful, and networking with clients and other practitioners, and allowing these businesses talk about their specialties, advertising help, and much more!
- Create an Online Directory of Practitioners in the Twin Cities allowing for a Free online source of Alternative & Complementary Health Practitioners in the Twin Cities, (Update 4/21/2010: Check out http://www.helloholistic.com --- created by Karlie Cole, Assistant Organizer!)
o This would also have a “Help Me” forum for potential Clients that are curious and have questions, allowing the Practitioners to better connect with new and current Clients
o In 5 Years, having the ability to do TV/Radio/Web Advertising promoting the directory allowing for Alternative & Complementary Health to move into the mainstream,
- Networking with local businesses to offer a day of FREE or Low-Cost Alternative Therapy to whomever walks in and needs this, (Update 4/21/2010: Starting to happen with http://www.tchealers.com/ and the 'Help another Heal' program that is being formed by HelloHolistic.com and will more than likely be a joint effort between the two)
o This helps practitioners meet more new clients, in a free or low-cost setting, while also allowing people that really need our services to obtain at least some Alternative & Complementary Health without the worry of how much it costs,
o Always remember, "Word of Mouth" advertising is Priceless…
**As time goes on, the goals may change here and there… suggestions ALWAYS encouraged
*** Interested in Helping out? We are always looking for additional Assistant Organizers to help create and organize events. Also, if you want to help in other ways, that's always strongly encouraged, just let us know! (i.e. I don't have time to do Web Programming, though, I own my own server that we can use for the online directory)
