I wanted to hold off on mailing this until I had ALL the details sorted out for next month, so as to avoid unnecessary email pileup. Unfortunately, time marches on, and not quite as cooperatively as it would if I were equipped with, say, a time machine.
The Doctor Who meetup is up for renewal on September 6. While I do intend to continue to handle the financial issues for this next 6 months, any and all help from you is appreciated. It costs $12 a month for the meetup.
If you put up $12, I will make sure that the message posting for RSVPs somewhere in it reads "This month sponsored by ___" on the meetup group listing. It can be your name, or whatever else you want to say that fits within the confines of good taste (yes, as I define it) and US libel law. You can just click on the PayPal link on the front page of our meetup group. I am also going to start keeping a very simple spreadsheet tracking donations and income/outgo for the meetup; this is not a for-profit venture, and I believe that financial transparency in such a case is just being responsible.
If you prefer your contribution to be other than financial, that's great too. We're always glad to have help finding rare episodes, keeping the message boards active, and letting other Whovians know about our group!
