Bring your laptops, sketch pads, and a creative spark. This "open workshop" is a mobile space for socializing, working on your own personal (or collaborative) projects, sharing with and learning from each other, and exploring new and provocative design: from hardware (i.e. www.arduino.cc) to software (i.e. anything Google, Ruby on Rails and other MVC Frameworks, Drupal, cool open source projects like Processing) to digital art (i.e. CS4) and web media (Flash, CSS, etc). There are wonderfully creative products and opportunities that can emerge when people come together to think, share, work, create, learn, and have fun, and we'd like you to be a part of it!

If you're familiar with the concept of a "hackathon" (google the term if not), then this is similar, only with a greater emphasis on sharing and learning and less on producing an end result, with a broader domain of inquiry that we're going to call "design."

*Please be patient as this site is updated slowly but surely*. Ideally this will be a self-organizing, collaborative group, "open source" in nature -- created and run by its community. Its purpose will evolve as the group evolves, organically, and co-organizers will emerge to help out with facilitation. Most of all, there's no rush, pressure, or competition in what what we do. Structured agendas will emerge only if the structure itself does not significantly hamper creativity at the individual and group levels. Come with something to work on, some new ideas to share, or some new technology to explore, and the structure should emerge as it needs to.
