January 14th Event...

Hey Everyone, Happy New Year!

Now that it’s January, please take the time to RSVP to this January 14th networking event if you’re planning on attending.

If the $10 fee is keeping you from signing up, please let me know. We could change this to a BYOB/wine and potluck gathering if that’s easier for everyone, feedback on this idea is appreciated. If so, we won’t need to charge any admission. It’s just me personally buying drinks and snacks for everyone, and I was hoping an entrance fee would help offset my costs, but a “snacks and drinks” potluck is even easier!

The A6 studio space, where we’re holding this event, is really coming along, and I think you’ll all enjoy seeing some of our local artisan’s handiwork, including some interior build-out by the same guy who worked on Thump. The “lobby” area of this light industrial space is perfect for a casual party, with leather sofa’s, lamps, large wooden tables, etc. It will be a great place to say hello, share a drink, and network with your fellow techies.

Don’t be scared off trying to find the space! It’s next door to the Unicom building, near the Bond and Wilson round-about behind Old Mill, just down the road from the Strictly Orgainc/Valentine Ventures shopping plaza. The back of the A6/Unicom building backs up to the Parkway, if that helps. If you’re on Bond street, you’ll see the new Selco Bank on the corner of Scalehouse Loop. Turn there, and then hang an immediate right at the construction site fences. If you forget to turn right, you’ll just dead end into the Hooker Creek parking lot. I’ll put some signs up on the fence!

Remember, no one’s getting paid to do this (and no companies have signed up to sponsor this event, it’s just me, Julie!), we’re just trying to create a time to meet-up socially and network if people are interested. Personally, I’ve enjoyed meeting many talented and fun people who work in Technology in Bend through these BendTech and WoTech events.

I will be starting my new job as the Marketing/Communications Manager at Ruff Wear ( tomorrow, January 2nd, and it’s not a tech company, I know! But I will still enjoy being involved in the tech community personally if people want to continue these social networking events.

Please note my personal email address, and email me directly at [address removed] if you have any questions, comments, etc. or call me at 977-8282.

Thanks, hope to see you there,

Julie Anderson
