What in the world is #SocialTV?

Details

“Why should we care about it, who is using it and how is it supporting business?” - We’re glad you asked, we were wondering the exact same thing - hah! it’s also referred to as #ConnectedTV o_0

Join techMAP (http://www.wearetechmap.com/) on Monday 12th March from 6pm at the Theodore Bull Frog Pub (http://www.theodore-bullfrog.co.uk/contact.html), Charing Cross/Embankment for the very best from London’s #SocialTV scene. We have 4 speakers, 12-15 minutes each for an hour full of the latest and greatest on #SocialTV. Don’t suppose you’d fancy a meal deal to welcome you through the door, would you? Show your foursquare check-in to Theodore staff for a £9.99 special - freshly made (wo)man (or veggie) burger, portion of chips and a pint of Fosters for £9.99 Yes, you can supplement your pint for a glass of wine! Just smile big and ask.

#techMAP are just smitten to have such a brilliant speaker line-up to educate us on the subject:

http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/5/b/9/c/event_93683452.jpeg Jules is Music editor at web music channel and production house Squarefaced Vision. All his experience is with web TV and there's a huge number of challenges facing the model that he’s going to share with us - Jules will also be explaining why there's not a lot of cross-over between web TV and terrestrial TV! It’s not to be missed really...

His fascination with music culture developed from stealing Pink Floyd records from his father to learn the guitar licks as a teenager, but it was only when he graduated from Warwick University and moved to London when it became an immersive lifestyle. After working for a raft of startup media companies and labels, including Songkick, Mixcloud and Warp Records, his experience with university radio landed him at the Music Editor's desk for Intruders.tv.
