Come out and join us for an awesome August Meetup with Spruce and Inworks.

Spruce, a classic, coming of age story about one family and their journey to hack retail and dominate men’s fashion; Taylor Romero, co-founder of Spruce, a menswear boutique and barbershop, will go through all the technology the team has built to provide a high touch, personalized client experience to everyone who visits the shop. Using more RaspberryPi’s than you’ll find at your corner bakery, a ton of mobile technology, real time, web socket based, proprietary and open source systems, they’ve created a holistic approach to men’s fashion that begins before you enter the shop and never ends.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and at the end of the journey, learn what it took to build a shop that has won Best Menswear Boutique and Top 10 Places to Get a Beard Trim from Westward, Top of the Town Best Men’s Boutique by 5280, Best Men’s Clothing and 3rd best barbershop by Denver A-List, been featured on Fox 31 twice, hit the cover of Denver Style Magazine, won the National Retail Champions award from the National Retail Federation, landed a talk at an IoT conference in Orlando, a talk at TEDxMileHigh, and the first ever brick-and-mortar to be accepted into the Techstars program.

The host and co-speaker, Inworks, draws together faculty, staff and students from across the two campuses, as well as entrepreneurs and leaders from industry, government, education and the community, to address problems of importance to human society. Inworks mission is to impart skills and habits of mind that allow people to collaboratively create impactful solutions to human problems. Inworks seeks to create innovative solutions to some of the world’s most challenging problems, while in the process creating life-long innovators.
