The Casual Foodie Optional Membership Fee
If you attend our events frequently, or even once every two months for that matter, then our optional membership fee may be of interest to you as it can help save you money as well as help the group out!
Our membership fee currently costs £6 for one year's membership.
Basically, the membership fee will allow you to attend as many of our events as you want for free! (Obviously you still pay for food...) It will also give you an increased priority on waiting lists. Members will get priority on events where there is a low amount of spaces available and there may eventually also be members only events. I am also thinking of trialing it so that members get an advanced 24hrs to gain at least half of the spaces, but I'm still deciding on this.
Please note that you will still have to pay to RSVP for our events - if you change your mind, or are a no show, you will not receive a refund for this as that little payment is there for a reason. However, if you do stick to your plans and show up, you'll receive a refund for it when you arrive!
If you have already booked some events that haven't happened yet and would like to pay for full membership, YES, you will receive a refund for those events when they happen. If the events you have paid for have already happened then unfortunately you will not!
If you'd like to pay now, you can! Look at the side bar - just under past meetups and our calendar you'll see an optional fee button. Click on that and you can pay straight away! You can also pay me in person if you'd prefer.
Again, this membership fee is completely optional. We will never force you to pay upfront for anything like this! If you'd prefer to pay per event or only attend our free events, then that's completely fine, however for those of you who attend more frequently are likely to benefit from this! :)
There are no places left at your meetup! Should I RSVP anyway?
YES, if you are sure you both want to and are able to come to that meetup! Where possible extra tables will be added according to demand, so please do sign up to the waiting list even if its already quite big. People do drop out and extra tables do get added, so don't be disheartened by a big number.
What is an extra table host?
Extra table hosts are members who I know to be reliable and who are prepared to help the group out further. They're not organizers (although they are all very friendly people so don't be afraid to talk to them!) and don't get involved with the planning etc, however they are there so that we can get extra tables at restaurants by having multiple bookings if necessary. Basically, those people are there because they're willing to get an extra table, and so if they are on the list or the waiting list an extra table can be booked with them where possible.
