I want to return to Patagonia and do the "W" path camping through Los Torres del Payne. Condors, guanacos, rheas, panthers, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, pampas and high peaks: that place is amazing. On the homefront, I also want to do a weeklong float trip down a major watershed- maybe the Shenandoah to the mouth of the Potomac, the length of the navigable Susquehanna, or something out west.
I look forward to hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, XC skiing and am open to other adventures as well. My job is very indoors and for my sanity and spirit I need to find a way to get some forests, mountains or even wooded parkland. Get me outside!
A weeklong winter traverse through the Presidential Range in North Conway NH. This was snowshoeing over a 5' base of snow and employing crampons when crossing ice-glazed rock. The 6 day back country trek required hauling a 30kg pack in double boots through incredible weather (good and bad) and sheltering one whiteout overnight in an ice cave. I enjoyed this challenge 2 years in a row but since my buddy got married his wife no longer lets him go.
I am new to the city and hope to find an outlet for my outdoor wanderlust. I would like to find like-minded people who also pine to get out among the pines.
