Formerly the Reluctant Activists For Ron Paul Meetup, this meetup now focuses on one of the most basic principles of Liberty, and a cornerstone of Dr. Ron Paul's economic philosophy - The Free Market. Our meetup title, The Green Anchor, was the name of the restaurant in Vienna where Ludwig von Mises gathered with his friends to discuss economics well into the late evening. If you are not familiar with Austrian Economics or Ludwig von Mises, you can get a quick overview here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwig_von_Mises
) and here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_school
). Please also check out the Ludwig von Mises Institute (http://mises.org/), which continues to carry on scholarship in the tradition of the Austrian School.
While we will of course continue to discuss political issues including the Ron Paul Campaign For Liberty and local issues, we will choose a weekly topic relating to the free market.
Our meetups are open to anyone interested in learning more about liberty, free markets, sound money and peace. Please join us.

This week we'll look at the bittersweet Industrial Revolution, which has transformed much of the world (for better or worse).
Listen to Ralph Raico give an overview of the economic origins of industrialization, and read about the Plight of Underdeveloped Nations in chapter 12 of Money, Method and the Market Process.
