Really enjoyed the book though, read the whole thing on my flight back from the UK. Agree a little with Michael on the end part although I think she was intending a slightly altered version of now. What happened in New York - 9/11 surely? Everyone is having a comeback gig and tweets . . Not so far from our reality.

we also need to appoint a couple of new organisers as we are getting thin on the ground, as well as choosing books tonight.

Guys- sorry I have to bail again. Working up in Port Macquarie three days a week and almost always on a Tuesday. Will have to join in again in the new year I think.

Sure thing Adam. Folks, if anyone is up in Port Macquarie on the last Tuesday of the month, let me know :)

Dear All, Sadly I'm in sunny BrisVegas for work for a few days so I'm going to be an apology but I have finished the book so my tuppence below.

I found the book a little weird; at first I didn't like it and then it really grew on me until finally the last few sections were just downright silly; the chapter in which power points are used was pointless and did nothing for the book and and the last chapter was the usual turgid hand wringing psuedo post apocalyptic nonsense that could only come from the hand of an author who has confined herself to the world of NY literature and academia....although I must say that the line "the youngest buyer on record was a three month old in Atlanta, who'd purchased a song by Nine Inch Nails called "Ga-ga" was a CRACKER.

The book almost seemed a collection of short stories then anything coherent and I wonder if it will be one of those Pulitzer winners that in 20 years time people will wonder WTF?

Enjoy the meetup and see you in October,

    Michael

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
