WORK-WEEK BLUES CHASER

Details

Hey Everyone,

Let's shake off those work week blues with a beautiful hike!

Come join us on this 4 mile (approx.) loop hike in beautiful Long Canyon in Thousand Oaks. This pretty little hike will keep your interest peaked with it's rolling terrain, unusual rock formations and spectacular views! We'll be hiking during "golden time" when the light is really beautiful as the sun makes it's way towards the horizon.

Heading out on a wide fire road, we'll climb to the top of the ridge that overlooks Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and beyond. At the top we'll watch the sunset, then finish off the hike with a connecting loop.

Dogs are welcome on this one as long as they're leashed, happy and picked up after (there are poop bags at the trail head).

This hike is great for fit beginners as well as the more seasoned hiker.

Distance: 4 miles approx.

Duration: 2 hours approx.

Terrain: wide fire road

Directions: Heading north on the 101 fwy in Westlake, exit at Westlake Blvd and turn right. Drive 4 miles and turn right on Lang Ranch Parkway. Drive all the way to the end of the street.

The trail head is on the right, just before Lang Ranch Parkway makes a sharp left turn.

From Thousand Oaks/Simi from the 23 fwy, exit Ave De Los Arboles and head east, until it ends at Westlake Blvd. Turn right, then make your first left onto Lang Ranch Parkway about 150 ft up. Drive to the end of Lang Ranch Pkwy.

There is plenty of street parking.
