MUGU PEAK AND LA JOLLA VALLEY LOOP

Details
Hey Everyone,
Come join us on this beautiful hike to Point Mugu peak and La Jolla Valley down at the beach where it will be much cooler!
I'm rating this hike as STRENUOUS because of the 845 ft. elevation gain in .7 miles at the beginning. It will be a challenge but we'll be going at a moderate pace. Plus, it's downhill all the way back http://img2.meetupstatic.com/1723755200050492932723/img/smileys/biggrin.gif
After our hike, lets all meet up for a bite to eat at Neptune's Net.
Distance: 4.2 mile loop
Elev. gain/loss: 1200 ft.
Terrain: single track, varying packed earth and stony parts
DIRECTIONS: From the Conejo Valley take Potrero Canyon to Las Posas Road and turn left going towards the beach. Hop on PCH south and go about 2 miles to the dirt parking lot on your left. You'll find it directly across from the giant orange observation tower at the Pt. Mugu naval base firing range.
Heading north on PCH, it's approx. 10 miles north of Decker Canyon, past Thornhill Broome state park. When you pass Mugu rock, it'll be on your right. Again, look for the orange tower across the street.
