Port Sanilac Scuba dive charter

Description  Description: We will be departing with Captain Hollis Barker of Blue Heaven Scuba at 1:00. We will be diving the wrecks of the MARY ALICE B and the REGINA. The MARY ALICE B is a 65' steel tug boat that sank in 1975. She rests in 92' of water. She was built in 1931 for the US Army Engineers. Divers can see the machinery on the aft deck, the pilot house and wheel in pristine condition. This is a nice dive and being reasonably small is often done as the first dive of the day, most often followed by a shallower dive for a longer time schedule on one of the shallower wrecks close by.

Today's second dive is the wreck of the REGINA. She is a 250' steel freighter and one of the many vessels that sank in the Great Lakes Storm of 1913. The REGINA was located in 1986, she was found resting upside down in 77' of water with a large gash down her port side. On a good day, visibility can be enough to see the hull in its entirety, including the huge prop, the stack and a gaping hole that reveals large sections of the interior cargo holds. Penetration is possible but not advised without proper training.
