What we’re about
The Times Squares Square Dance Club is the largest LGBT-and-friends social square dance club in the country. We offer educational, social and recreational opportunities through Modern Western Square Dancing in a gay friendly environment.
We are a diverse group of men and women of all ages who enjoy the fun and rewards of square dancing. We give numerous Dance Parties with live callers throughout the year, and there are plenty of opportunities for new dancers to have fun, learn some calls, and make new friends.
For those who love square dancing and want to learn more, classes begin in September and January. We teach and offer dance opportunities from Mainstream through Challenge 2 as defined by Callerlab (Mainstream, Plus, Advanced and Challenge).

Learn to square dance in just 15 weeks!
P.S. 003 Charrette School, 490 Hudson St, New York, NY, USSo, you've been to one of our "Intro" events (or maybe you haven't) and you want to learn to square dance. Here's your chance!
This is not the same activity that induced awkwardness and teenage angst in junior high. It's a social activity enjoyed by fun-loving adults in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia. The music is more like your Spotify playlist and you don't need to wear crinolines, boots or bolos (unless you want to).
Our excellent teacher, Howard Richman, and a group of experienced club members will help you learn the first level of Modern Western Square Dance. Starting from square one (pun intended) on Tuesday evening, January 13, 2026, you'll learn the basics even if you have little or no knowledge of square dance. By the end of the series you'll have the skills to join in at any dance at any club worldwide!
