Hack Night & Junior Jump w/ Guest Speaker Rae Bonfanti

Details

Attention Junior Jumpers! Come and join our new speaker series geared toward bridging the knowledge gap between bootcamp and contributing developer. Rae Bonfanti will be presenting her talk: The Single Responsibility Principle makes being a junior developer easy.

Rae Bonfanti is a rare breed of developer: she's done TDD and pair programming from day one. She likes design patterns, hates god objects and wants you to know all about them. She's a mentor and speaker for Women Who Code. She also loves Rilakkuma.

After the talk, feel free to stick around and join other developers for our usual hack night (details below).

=======================================================

Every 4 weeks we gather a diverse mix of developers and designers who want to code and collaborate for a couple of hours after work.

Bring a project or enthusiasm for working on someone else's. If you want to give a short presentation or run a workshop, we have the facilities and completely welcome ad-hoc organization.

We are technology agnostic. However, we're most familiar with and will be the most help with Ruby, JavaScript, and Objective-C (iOS).

We kick off with a brief daily-style intro where everyone gives their name, says what they're working on and whether or not they want a hand... then we'll get our hack on. There will be at least a couple Carbon Five folks around to help out.

Doors open at 6p, kick-off at 6:30, doors close at 9:45. We provide the infrastructure, food, beverages and some helpful hands.
