We have reserved the light, roomy meeting room at Milwood for 4+ hours of Saturday gaming. Newbies welcome—we will be happy to teach you to play. We are a safe, friendly, inclusive, and diverse group. We’ll meet at 12:30 at the Milwood branch of the Austin Public Library, in northwest Austin, at 12500 Amherst Dr, off Parmer/MoPac. There's plenty of free parking, including four spots for EV charging at the west end of the lot. P.S. Please, no food at the game tables—so be sure to grab a bite before you arrive. This is a two day one night loop around lake Georgetown. This is a fairly flat 29 mile hike but some areas can be very rocky so hiking poles are recommended. This is a beginner friendly trip but the miles may be hard on some. This trip is highly recommended for those signed up for the Teton backpacking trip as a shakedown hike. We recommend to have a pack weighing around 30lbs to simulate an actual wilderness multi day trip. We will be starting at Jim Hogg park going counterclockwise. Making a stop at Tejas for lunch and to refill water. Then over to Sawyer or Cedar Hollow camp for the night. The next day we will continue our trek around stopping at Cedar breaks and the fishing platform for water if needed. This is a fairly easy hike but there are multiple bail out points if needed. Most people bail because they carry too much gear or get blisters. So wear good socks and shoes and pack light as you can. Food and water: You will need lunch for two days, 1 dinner and lots of snacks and electrolytes. Freeze dried backpacking food is recommended. Salty savory high calorie snacks as well. It could be cold and wet or 100 or both this time of year so stay hydrated. I don't trust the water out of the lakes or streams so we will be stopping at park TH’s to resupply at the faucets . I will have a filter for emergencies . Clothing: this will depend on the forecast but will most likely be cool in the mornings and warm in the afternoon so dressing in layers is recommended . Always have rain gear. Extra socks are recommended as well as a hat and Sun glasses . Treat your clothes with permethrin for ticks. If all the Suspect roles have already been taken or you'd prefer not to be a Suspect, then you can be just one of several generic murder "Investigators". (Note: "SUSPECTS" also are "Investigators", trying to sleuth-out who committed the murder, because until the end of the party, NO ONE knows who was the actual murderer!) **From 4:30 – 5:00**, you can mingle/get to know the other guests at the Murder Mystery Party while imbibing whatever BYOB you've brought. **Around 5:00**, everyone will sit down together and enjoy the Pot Luck dinner, talking and eating together whatever main course (or favorite side dish or salad) selections folks brought to share. **Promptly at 6:00**, the Murder Mystery will start with an announcement that a body has been found at the party scene and that everyone should help the investigation by asking/talking to everyone else to uncover the clues and find out who among us is most likely to be guilty of the murder.
