Toronto Node.js Meetup: The Summer Edition

Details

Greetings Nodesters. We've got a last minute summer meetup for you, with two great speakers from out of town. Benjamin Lupton (https://twitter.com/balupton) the creator of DocPad (http://docpad.org/), and Matthew Dobson (https://twitter.com/mdobs) from Apigee (http://apigee.com/about/).

We have a new venue this meetup, 24 Duncan Street, courtesy of InPowered Inc. (http://www.inpwrd.com/)

Benjamin Lupton is the founder of Bevry (http://bevry.me/), a Sydney based company dedicated to empowering developers everywhere. His open-source JavaScript and Node.js projects are some of the most popular in the world. Benjamin is also the founder of DocPad, a next generation web framework; allowing for content management via the file system, rendering via plugins, and static site generation for deployment anywhere. It's built with Node and Express.js, making it naturally fast and easily extendable. Ben's presentation will be focused on DocPad.

Matthew Dobson is a Software Engineer at Apigee, and will be talking about Node.js as your API layer. Matthew will be demonstrating The Argo Project (https://github.com/argo), and explaining why Node is ideal for your API layer. If you're wondering why Argo would be a great proxy and origin server, then make sure to join us for Matthew's talk. Matthew will provide a demo using Argo to create an API quickly.

Thanks to Myplanet Digital (http://www.myplanetdigital.com/) for bringing Benjamin to Toronto, and thanks to Apigee for bringing Matthew.

Matthew is also providing a free HTML5 App Building Class with Apigee, on Wednesday July 24th and Thursday July 25th. Be sure to check out his event:
