Hello everyone,

I'd like to extend an invitation to the filmthrill Social + Networking Event.

As Zefred has already mentioned, the event is always well attended and if you join us - well, the more the merrier as they say.

Hope to see you on Thursday.

filmthrill is a community of Toronto area independent Toronto area filmmakers: writers, directors, actors, editors, cinematographers, composers and crew - you name it we do it. You will even find the odd film buyer and entertainment lawyer in our midst.

We bring together people working in the local film/television industry including the short and indie film world. Our goal is to create meaningful connections and potential collaborations, partnerships and eventual growth in our industry.

Our humble efforts have already been highly successful on many levels and have included the launch of a new production company with an international feature co-production in the works.

Hi Gang,

Sorry for not being more active with the group but my life has been kind of hectic these past months, and even though I've been trying hard to organize a meetup in october, I just couldn't find a guest speaker yet.

As a lot of you already know, I don't see our Toronto Film Industry group as only a networking tool for all of us, but more as a free education tool, hence the quest for guest speakers I'm trying to get for all our meetups.
Getting them for free is not easy and is taking time. So, in order to satisfy the lust of some of our members for pure networking, I have decided to join forces with Filmthrill, another group who has specialized in organizing pure networking events.

They do it once a month, usually on the last thursday, and I have attended three of them so far. These events are open to everyone, even though they target Film and TV people. As a result, the crowd that gathers for these events is very various, ranging from amateurs, beginners, students and wannabees (a lot of them) to highly skilled professionals. Yes, there are some, and in substantial numbers. I have met them, and that's why I still go to those events. You just have to find them in the crowd :)

In return, Filmthrill will post our meetups to their members who will be welcome to attend them.

Here are the details for the next networking gathering they have, and I'll post it everymonth as a supplement to our meetups which will be more education oriented.

Hope to see you there, and maybe every one of you who goes there can wear one of those free downloadable "Meetup" badges so we can recognize each other in the Filmthrill crowd. :)

Zefred, your group organizer.
