Details

Beginning Rails 3 Workshop Series
A half an hour tutorial at the start of every Toronto Ruby Brigade meeting to teach members in our community Ruby on Rails 3. The workshop is made for beginners and it's based on the Beginning Rails 3 book.
For the first workshop, Beginning Rails 3 author Rida Al Barazi, will give an introduction to Rails and its conventions. He will be walking through a quick example by generating a Rails project and build a basic scaffold showing Rails generators in action. The workshop begins at 6:30pm.

Pizza and Fellowship
At 7pm, we will be providing pizza to our members. For those who are more advanced and don't plan on attending the workshop, this is a great point to enter the meeting :)

Introduction to Behaviour Driven Development
Our first presenter, Nicholas Mulder, will be giving a talk about BDD and how to integrate it into your development workflow. He will be going though some popular libraries and how to get started with them.

MongoDB
Peter Kieltyka, is going to give a talk about why MongoDB is his document database of choice. Find out about MongoDB's features and Peter's experiences using it in production for over a year for crowdreel.com.
