G'day, and welcome to Sydney's first Transmedia based meetup group.

For those of you who don't know what transmedia is, here is the definition as taken from www.henryjenkins.org

"Transmedia storytelling represents a process where integral elements of a fiction get dispersed systematically across multiple delivery channels for the purpose of creating a unified and coordinated entertainment experience. Ideally, each medium makes it own unique contribution to the unfolding of the story. So, for example, in The Matrix franchise, key bits of information are conveyed through three live action films, a series of animated shorts, two collections of comic book stories, and several video games. There is no one single source or ur-text where one can turn to gain all of the information needed to comprehend the Matrix universe."

If that doesn't mean much to you then I'll give you a broad idea of what kind of people might be involved in a transmedia project so you'll know whether it will be worth you joining:

- Game Developers

- TV Producers

- Website Developers

- Script Writers

- Graphic Designers

- Social Media Marketers

Over the coming months I hope that we'll gather together a lovely bunch of geek chic peeps who will bring something to the table. I want to see exciting projects arise from Sydney's finest and so lets get together and talk projects and collaboration.

Look forward to meeting you soon...
