I lived 30 years in Alaska and did a lot of fishing, but not fly fishing (my husband did), so this is new to me and so far this group has been very helpful and friendly!
It was a very good show and it was roomier. we attended multiple very good seminars. There was; however, some confusion over parking as no one that we asked knew where the attendees were supposed to park. The color brochure we received in the mail clearly said 'FREE PARKING" (in red) on the front bottom. But, the show itself was good. We prefer Raleigh since it's closer, but they did have a good hotel rate for two hotels next to the convention center so that was handy. It was a beautiful drive to Winston-Salem and a good weekend outing!
I enjoyed meeting you and thank you so much for the handout. I'm sure I will have many questions as I get more into the sport. Thank you so much for your offer to help. I will definitely take you up on that!
Have a great week and hopefully I will see you soon.
Just looked, and it is a Cyber-Shot W230. It is a couple years old. So, that wouldn't be the current model. I will eventually drop it in the water but am enjoying getting photos for now. I've actually considered buying one of those Gopro cameras. They are really small and go inside a waterproof housing. Glad you liked the photos. Recently took a number at the Watauga, the Wilson, and a few streams falling off the BR Parkway. They are on the site too.
The pics from yesterday were at the Ararat only. Have never been to the Mitchell but would like to make it there sometime. Camera is a pretty simple one; Sony that fits in my pocket. Those fish fought a lot and were so tired that they would sit near my feet after I let them off the fly.
hey wanted to see if i could help you with any information. just give me a call at [masked]
now that is a NICE Grayling
Thanks for your note. I didnt know I had been selected. How nice! Hope your doing great!
Sydney, If you like Curwood, you might like Joseph Heywood. His most recent book "The Snowfly" is a must read!
Hey Sydney, I was at the meeting, but the photo is a joke, and not of me. I was the newbee from MI that stood up during new member introductions. O-town, as it is fondly know by the locals is a nice community and I bet you would enjoy the Curwood festival. I actually grew up near Curwood Castle and learned to fish there on the banks of the Shiawassee River.
Nice Grayling. Alaska?
