Come learn about RethinkDB (http://rethinkdb.com/). We'll have a brief 30-minute overview of the technology. Then put your new skills to practice by writing various queries on a database we've set up for you.

We'll provide the boilerplate (https://github.com/trynewtech/rethinkdb-meetup-example) for you. All you need is a laptop and some knowledge of Python, Ruby, or JavaScript. Together, we'll create the Hello World of the internet, a blog!

If you're really good and solve the challenges early, we'll have another database full of queryable data goodness for you to tinker with.
