Announcing a new Meetup for The "Tucson Beer Nutz-What Can I Say, I Love BEER" Club!
What: Great Guinness Toast at Hotel Congress
When: Friday, February 19,[masked]:45 PM
Price: $10.00 per person
311 E. Congress St.
Tucson, AZ 85701
This sounds like a perfect event for our group and a few others I will be posting it on. It's going on the 20's and 30's women's meetup and SAAC Jr. meetup too. Maybe Bars and Stars meetup too if Jo Ann wants to post it.
Here's a description from Hotel Congress's website:
Celebrate the luckiest holiday of the year with our early St. Patty?s Day Great Guinness Toast. Enjoy the music of The Killdares as they play their own modern blend of traditional Celtic playing skills, power-pop accessibility, and straight up rock ?n? roll. Join us for a toast to a fantastic year with a fantastic beer during our Great Guinness Toast.
Then join us inside for the after party with the Zsa Zsas!
I have seen the Zsa Zsas in concert and they are hilarious! They only play a few concerts a year so this is a great opportunity to be amused and enjoy their performance.
Tickets are $10 and I would advise buying advance. You can get them through the Hotel Congress's website that I added below. The doors open at 7 pm so let's meet in the back of Hotel Congress by the patio at 6:45 pm.
Here's a little more info on the Great Guinness Toast from Guinness's website:
"Create an annual record-breaking consumption event where everyone is drinking Guinness beer?" That's exactly what those great guys at Guinness have done with The Great Guinness Toast. Sometimes known as "St. Practice Day", made up of Guinness drinkers across the country trying to break the record for the largest simultaneous toast. Since it's inception in 1993 Pittsburgh, The Great Guinness Toast has consistently grown, and breaks its own record each and every year.
The concept of collectively raising a glass on the 3rd Friday in February and toasting with the famous black and creamy brew is an attempt to gain entrance into one of Arthur Guinness' other select clubs; The Guinness Book of World Records.
