"This month the adults-only evening is themed on Robots. Not only do you get the Science Museum's collections and interactive galleries all to yourself, but you can also discover how nature has inspired robot design, meeting a bat-bot, a shoal of robot fish and a robotic salamander, and chat with researchers behind the robots.
Lates are themed, spanning issues as far apart as sex, alcohol and climate change, but always contain science shows, a pub quiz, Punk Science comedy shows, the best silent disco in town (underneath real space rockets) and sell out speed dating. Dubbed ‘drinking and thinking’ by visitors, Lates regularly attracts over 3000 adults each night, with DJs and bars on three floors of the museum."
The Science Museum runs it's monthly lates on the last Wednesday of every month with a different theme each month, with this theme being 'robots'.
Open 18:45-22:00 you can queue to book events on the night such as the silent disco etc mentioned above; these are on a first come first served basis so queueing to get tickets early is advised (all tickets are free for the above mentioned events *except speed dating which is £10 a ticket).
I will meet everyone outside the entrance and find out what events people want to do and maybe split into groups if needed. If tickets are sold out that's fine we will just explore the museum and have drinks at the on-site bar.
There is a cloakroom, £1 per coat/jumper etc, £2 for small bags.
I'll advise what I am wearing on the day so you can find me, I'll put on a meetup sticker as well and list my number in case you are still having trouble spotting me.
I have listed this event to start at 6:00pm, even though doors don't open until 6:45pm. This is because I work right near the museum so will be early and would be good to try and get some tickets, but feel free to join us at whatever time suits.
