Elysian Times - March 2009

March 2009
Winter Lingers.
Elsewhere in the World, Spring begins to show ever lovely promise, while here we experience the incredible late-season snow. To consider the magnitude of these weather systems is really rather humbling. To look out the window, and see all that stuff that came from the sky, and lain as a fresh blanket, eight inches deep. And, not only what I can see, but beyond for hundreds of miles.
The days grow longer, little by little. Around the twentieth of this month, the days and nights will be of equal length, and officially the calendar will declare this Springtime.
Whether or not the same story is reflected by the view from the window...
Treacherous weather or no, there is plenty happening all around the 'Cities, musically, theatrically, liturgically. To see all notes of events and observations, visit :

Elysian Times in print? On paper, even - posted onto whatever boards will permit such things. It is a single four-page sheet. Still a bit sparse on actual content...
It can be viewed online here :

Want to play along?!
As you can see, I need all the help I can get. Your participation in this 'zinage would be much appeciated. All manner of content - art & articles. Or, flyers to be distributed with the 'zine but not actually IN it (can't be reduced to miniscule black & white)...
On the subject of flyer distribution & general streetteaming business, do we need a meet for that? Who might be interested, and what days & times would be best? and what part of town?
I suppose I envision it as being not entirely unlike a scrapbooking swap, just... less cute.
Join the TCES Archivists' Union today!
Or something.

Enjoy the Winter while it lasts! & keep watch for all signs of impending Spring - snow will melt, winds will blow, grass will green, and the branches of trees will start thinking of that leaf-growing thing they sometimes do.
