When: Wednesday, April 28,[masked]:00 PM
Price: $10.00 per person
3010 Minnehaha Avenue South
Minneapolis, MN 55406
I am teaching a beginning level Cha Cha dance class for my other friends, and I would love to have my Bollywood friends to join us. (Those groups prefer to do dance lessons during the week, and go dancing on weekends. So, these classes are scheduled on weekdays.)
In the class, we will use Latin music for practice. But you can dance Cha Cha to many slower Bollywood songs. It can also be danced at Salsa dances (the group is going Salsa dancing on 4/30/2010) or at Swing/Ballroom/Big Band dances (the group is going to the Hanger Dance on 5/22/2010).
Following is the description at some other groups.
Exuberant and Elegant Cha Cha Cha
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
On this day, we will do the beginning and advanced steps in the Exuberant and Elegant Cha Cha Cha (Also called Cha Cha). This is the dance made famous by the movies, touring shows, and classic poses. You know you have always wanted to learn to Cha Cha, and here is your chance.
You can dance Cha Cha at our Salsa dance outing in late April, and also at the Hanger dance outing in late May. You can also dance Cha Cha to a variety of other music, and at many other dance events.
As always, we will be rotating partners frequently to make sure that
** Nobody is without a partner for long, and
** You get to dance with most everybody of opposite gender in the group.
** Couples and partnered people are welcome if you are willing to rotate partners with everybody in the group.
For the class, we will meet at Patrick's Cabaret at 3010 Minnehaha Avenue South at Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN 55407.
** There are parking lots on both sides (South and North) of Patrick's Cabaret, and you can park at any open spot marked Patrick's Cabaret.
** In addition, street parking is free after 6:00 p.m. (Parking on Snelling, 1 block west, near the police station seems to be better.)
** There is a Police Station across the North parking lot. This means we will be safer in this area. However, be sure to follow all parking rules/signs.
** There are a number of bus lines running near this location, and the light rail is only two blocks away.
** The entrance to the studio is through the red door at the back end of the South parking lot.
Please bring your own beverage to drink during the lessons, as there are no vending machines at the studio. (There is no alcohol allowed at the studio.) However, some of us like to go out for food/drinks at a nearby establishment after the lesson.
Cost for the class is only $10/person. (Please bring cash; exact change is preferable.) If we have more than 20 members, we will do a drawing for one person to get a free class. (There will be additional costs for dance outings.)
We hope to see you there!
Feel free to pass this information onto your friends/family/co-workers. The more the merrier. :-)
