January 1, 2012
As you know, there is a great demand for these classes.
During the past few months several have had to stay in the waiting list but never got into the classes because some members who had RVSPd "yes" never showed up and what is worse, they didn't even find the time to send the Organizer a quick note to explain why.
It's not fair to the Organizer/instructor and to you who have had to wait and missed out on a great opportunity to learn how to dance.
What's worse is that projected $ donations toward admin expenses are lost and sometimes the Organizer has had to make up for the shortfall.
One might say the problem can be solved by increasing the donation level. That can be avoided, however, if people who say they are coming do actually show up.
The TwoRightFeet Meetup policy has been and still is to make it affordable for people to learn dancing for free, as part of the instructor's community building mission.
Therefore, effective January 8, 2012, a "three-strikes and you are out" policy comes into play.
The new rules are:
1. You must change your "yes" RVSP to "no" within 24 hours if you are unable to attend the event. If you don't, that's one strike.
2. With three strikes, your membership will be terminated.
3. Any strike, based on the above, can be eliminated by offering the $2 donation that would otherwise be paid. If the strike involves you, as a member and your guest, the donation would be $4.
