Portland has three sky high restaurants with dramatically different views and atmospheres, all within walking distance of each other. On tonight's walking tour, we will visit Noble Rot, Departure, and Portland City Grill so if any of those has been on your Portland bucket list, join me for an informative walk as we wine and dine at our perches above the city.
We'll begin with happy hour at Noble Rot, a restaurant that grows produce for its menu on the roof of the building. This is probably my favorite rooftop as you get a great view of downtown with the west hills in the background. I'll give you some interesting information on the aquifer beneath the building, and we'll get a personalized tour of the rooftop garden. We'll depart Noble rot for a 1 mile walk to Departure, an Asian fusion restaurant on the top of the Nines hotel near Pioneer square. What makes this rooftop unique is that you can sit outdoors while dining. Not to mention the great interior design and two page sake menu. A short walk from Departure is Portland City Grill, where we can enjoy dessert from Portland's original rooftop dining establishment. Portland City Grill has a great old school bar (circa 1970s) and is my favorite spot from which to watch winter storms come in. After dessert, we'll head back to our starting point, just another mile walk. This walking and dining tour should end by 10pm. I chose Noble Rot as the start point as it has the best free on street parking available. Event starts promptly at time indicated. Bring rain gear if it rains.
Fee for this event is $10 and does not include food or drink.
