Big Design Game Jam - Launch Meeting with IGDA Dallas

At this meeting IGDA Dallas ( https://www.meetup.com/Dallas-IGDA/ ) will be discussing the up and coming Big Design Game Jam, announcing the theme and constraints, and letting people network and form teams -- in case you are short a programmer or artist or something.

October means Big Design (bigdesignevents.com) is coming to town and, as you may have heard, Big Design is including a Game Design track this year. As part of their new-found love of gaming, Big Design is also hosting a Game Jam (gamedallas.org/AtBigDesign/Jam.html). The Jam is sponsored by Unity Technologies and all the participants will be given access to the full engine to work with during the Jam.

In a departure from Jams you may be familiar with, the actual game jamming will happen off site before the conference. People can make face-to-face or virtual teams and need only submit the final game (complying with the Jam's constraints and themes) by the declared deadline. The final submissions will be judged and demoed during a special session at the conference. You don't have to be present to win, but it would sure be nice.

We are inviting the Dallas Unity Group to the meeting to stack the deck with eager Unity veterans. Even if you are not participating in the Jam, trust me, pre-production is fun to watch.

We are also welcoming a new ally in our battle to make game development easy in the Metroplex -- Improving Enterprises is letting us use their space for the meeting and is supplying the pizza to keep your creative gears moving.
