Providence UX Meetup: Adobe Muse as a Prototyping Tool

Chris MacDonald will be giving a general overview of how to use Muse to prototype ideas–without writing code.

Learn how to build working prototypes .(even full websites) in a few hours not days and how you can use Muse as a rapid iteration tool for Interaction Design, UI Design and UX Design.

Christopher macdonald is an instructor of new media interactive design at New England Institute of Art. he is also an adjunct instructor several local colleges and universities, including Bristol Community College. He also works as creative director at ::glorimar interactive a boutique interactive design firm in southeastern massachusetts.

I wanted to see more, but of course we had limited time. Attendance was great, and so it was nice to see so many professionals with different focuses. Muse looks interesting and I am glad to know about it being out there in the world, but I don't think that it will fit into our design workflow yet. My biggest complaint is that none of the code will be production ready, so it doesn't help me get close to the final product as we build and refine and take low fidelity to high. I also worry, slightly, that it will give people with no code experience the ability to Photoshop the web.

That's been an issue with every 'WYSIWYG' web page builder ever made, but they do have their place (but likewise, not necessarily for us). Might be interesting to contrast this with prototyping with HTML/Sass/Foundation (or Bootstrap, etc)

Curious to know what the parking situation is like near the location?

    • Jason P.

Ryan - there's usually on-street parking to be found within a block or two by that time of night, often on either Westminster or Weybosset.

I was invited by a friend of mine to join in on the meeting tonight and was very much looking forward to it! Unfortunately, I woke up with the flu. I'm hoping to make it next time around as a newbie! Have fun tonight.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
