User experience is pretty much the whole thing, if I make a site and the users don't perceive and interact with it the way it's intended the site is not working.
I've been working on a site for a client where the main goal is to familiarize potential customers with the company's products and convince them to call to order or schedule a consultation.
I can't stand when websites rely too heavily on a FAQ or Help page to instruct users on how to use it. It says "Hey, we know this site is confusing but we're not going to fix it."
I'm a freelance web designer/developer with a background in visual arts.
