Jeremy Dahl (itgroove (http://www.itgroove.net)) will be presenting "Demystifying Office 365 - what is the (Microsoft) Cloud and what does it mean to me?"

Jeremy is an IT Consultant with itgroove. Jeremy has over a decade of experience in IT and most recently is focusing on SharePoint and Office 365. Jeremy is a an MCTS and MCSA and recently completed the Office 365 Certification allowing itgroove to achieve Silver Status for Small Business (Office 365). Jeremy says "I'm Plunging headfirst into cloud technology, and completely sold on the idea of being able to work anytime, anywhere on (almost) any device – I love that technology allows me to collaborate with people in real time anywhere in the world, and that I’m not tied to any one machine at any time to be productive."

Craig Mercer (Project Manager, Vancouver Island Health Authority) will be presenting SharePoint for Project Management – Bringing transparency to the "Dark Arts"

Synopsis:In 2008, project management in the IM/IT department at VIHA was fragmented and non-standardized. Working as the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager for Project Delivery Management Craig was tasked with reducing fragmentation, increasing standardization and ensuring projects could engage in portfolio issue management. He’ll be presenting on how the PMO migrated the project management group from network shares to SharePoint and made it the one stop shop for (source of truth) documentation, reporting/dashboarding, portfolio issue management progressing towards the holy grail of the master project file (allowing role up of project data across the entire site collection to an executive dashboard). He’ll also touch on the team’s use of SharePoint for go-live (project implementation) central support which has become the defacto standard in VIHA.

Bio:Craig Mercer is a self-taught SharePoint evangelist and IT professional with 15 years experience in project management, web development, and network security. He has plied his trade in as a “hired gun” for the Attorney General, a project manager at agile start-ups such as Vigil Health Solutions and as a QA/QC manager for project methodology in the enterprise at the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
