New Meetup: Greg's Watershed Wednesdays @ S. Surrey Bike Park

Announcing a new Meetup for Vancouver Mountain Bike Meetup!

What: Greg's Watershed Wednesdays @ S. Surrey Bike Park

When: Wednesday, August 18,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Delta Watersheds
Pinewood Elementary School 11777 Pinewood Drive
Delta, BC V4E 3E9

Being that this is the second to last ride of the series, I thought we would go to the bike park for a "5 whoo-hoo" ride. It's getting dark earlier and I would like to get on to the trails right at 6:30 so we can get some riding and session time in. If you're a bit late, don't worry, we're going to do a quick lap around the BLT and we'll pick you up when we dive back into the Junkyard Dog trails. Post-ride wing-fest and drink-up @ the Black Forest Pub on the corner of King George and 32nd ave.

As always.....If I can get a commitment from a couple of AOs, I'll lift the cap

Greg's Watershed Wednesday's on May 5th and it will be my regular ride/exercise night. 6:00 works best for me, but I was thinking, it's getting dark later, so would 6:30 allow more people to make it out after work?

The school probably works best (Denis can park infront of "crazy ladies" new house). Oh, and it's rain or shine, unless it's totally dumping and windy. I've only ridden the shed a couple of times and I'm not that familiar with the trails in DWS, there doesn't appear to be anything overly treacherous and it isn't so big that getting lost is a problem.

Ideally I would like to treat it as a beginner to intermediate. We'll decide ahead of time if we're going to XC some laps or hang-out and session the stunts and techincal stuff. If it proves as popular as Beginner Tuesday's we can break off into groups by skill, fitness and/or type of ride you want to do, provided a couple of experienced riders are willing to lead the packs. If not, I'll cap it at 8 riders.

Denis, John and Dave are listed as AOs who have expressed an interest in helping with the rides but may not be available every week. If there are other experienced members who are available and would like to help let Davemud know and you will be added as an event host.

If AOs and experienced riders let me know as soon as possible when they can help we can raise the cap. If people have time and want to grab a bite nearby afterwards and see who has the best tale from the trail bring a t-shirt and some normal looking shorts if you don't want to look like a dirty biker... but that look works too!

Meet up and the AOs are volunteers and do not accept responsibility for the safety of the riders in the group. All riders are responsible for their own safety. Helmets are mandatory for all rides, arm and shin pads are strongly recommended. You also need water, tools to fix a flat at least and you should have some food, extra clothes appropriate to the season and weather and a basic first aid kit. Basically, you need to be self sufficient in the event you get separated from the group.
