Hello VMWN members!
I posted the Healthy Cooking class for June 3rd to the calendar and then learned that the Annual BVS Peace Abbey event in Sherborn is the same day.
There will be a vegan meal for which RSVP is required followed with a speaking presentation by Gary Kowalski.
If you don’t already know about it the original announcement on the BVS website calendar http://www.bostonveg.org/calendar.html
Also, the BVS email announcement with all the details has been saved to our files under the More tab on the Meetup menu bar.
There are three incredible events that I want to make certain you all know about.
1.) NAVS Vegetarian SummerFest
2.) Animal Rights National Conference
3.) Farm Sanctuary Country Hoe Down
Unfortunately two events overlap-guess you could call it poor vegan planning. : | I’m not going to post to our calendar since they are all out of state.
If you have the opportunity to get to any of these they are well worth it for learning and networking – and fun too!
P.S. Some of us from the group are going to Summerfest…we could carpool!
1.) NAVS Vegetarian SummerFest Johnstown, PA June 27th - July 1st
2.) Animal Rights National Conference Washington, D.C. August 2nd - 5th
Join hundreds of like-minded people to learn about and discuss issues and tactics, visit 90 exhibits, network, enjoy delicious vegan food, and so much more.
3.) Farm Sanctuary Country Hoe Down Watkins Glen, NY Aug 4th - 5th
[I just checked the website and full details aren’t listed yet. But, if you go to their website and sign up to be on the email list, you’ll get details as they become available. ]
The New York Country Hoe Down brings together hundreds of people who care about farm animal issues every summer. Participants network, stay up-to-date on the issues through inspiring speaker presentations, and spend quality time with the rescued animals who call Farm Sanctuary home. Registration for the weekend includes mouth-watering vegan meals, our famous barn dance, and admission into our camping area, where guests are invited to pitch a tent for the weekend! Year after year, guests hail the Hoe Down as a highlight of their summer, a weekend that leaves them feeling rejuvenated and inspired to make positive changes in their lives!
Have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!
