Vegan since 01/01/2010
I think most people are socially conditioned to see the consumption of meat and other animal products as normal and I was certainly in that trap for a long time. However I've always felt a sense of guilt about eating meat and since going vegan it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I just don't see how eating the flesh of overfed, stressed and mistreated animals that are injected with hormones and loaded with toxins and possible diseases can be healthy for the human body or mind. I'm also aware that animal exploitation goes way beyond what we eat which is why I have woken up to veganism and I believe that one of the best ways to wake others up is simply by setting good example. Humans no longer exploit animals out of necessity and do it merely to satisy their own selfish and habitual need for pleasure and entertainment. This is sad when you consider that humans can now in fact eat healthily and even live in luxury without the need to harm or exploit one animal.
I'd like to meet like-minded people to share ideas and learn as much as possible about living without the exploitation of animals
