Greetings Veg*n Meetup members!
The last weekend of June will be full of opportunities for those of you who want to test out roles as a baker, a vendor, or an activist!
On Saturday, June 26, we will hold a vegan bake sale at Tower Grove Farmers Market
from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, as part of the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale
. The proceeds will benefit START
. We need baked goods to sell, so if you are an aspiring baker, then please volunteer to bake goods for us. You can find recipes at the vegan bake sale web site, or in some of your favorite cook books.
For aspiring vendors, we've got something for you too by way of volunteering to work the booth. I plan to set up hour-long shifts, so we will have time to experience the market in addition to working the booth. I should have a tentative schedule ready this weekend, so please stay tuned.
If you would like to work a shift at the booth, contributed product, or both, please RSVP and specify your plans in the comments section. Or, shoot me an email by replying to this message.
For those aspiring activists out there, you won't be bored that weekend either. On June 26 and June 27, Saint Louis University will host the Women of Faith conference at Chaifetz Arena. The conference holds a great leafleting opportunity and Christian Vegetarian Association
has stepped up to coordinate it. They have the following leafleting shifts available:
Friday, June 26
9:00 am to 10:15 am
3:15 pm to 4:15 pm
6:00 pm to 7:15 pm
9:15 pm to 10:00 pm
Saturday, June 27
8:00 am to 9:15 am
3:30 pm to 4:45 pm
If you would like to leaflet at this event, please contact Lorena at [address removed]
So whether you are a baker, vendor, activist, or all three, the last weekend of June should give you plenty of opportunities to strut your stuff.
Have a great week and stay dry.
