Please join me in welcoming our newest members: Karrie Ann (our 700th member!), Nola, A.M, Jarred, Nick, Kerri and Flora! Thank you again to all of you who either volunteered or attended our recent Veggie Fest. I hope you had a great time.
For whatever reason you joined our group, whether it is to socialize with like-minded folks, meet new friends, support the vegan/vegetarian movement or to reduce the suffering of farm animals, you are all welcome. The Humane Society of Louisiana formed this group several years ago to promote our philosophy of being kind to all animals, and if that interests you there are several ways you can help.
Since we don't receive any city, state or federal funding, we must rely on private donations to keep our 200 animal no-kill sanctuary and humane programs in operation. If you would like to support this critical and life-saving work, there are 3 things you can do today to help:
1. Become a dues-paying member or simply give a donation to our humane society through our website at this link: http://www.humanela.org/donate.htm
2. Vote for us today and everyday through Dot's Diner's Charity Voting Contest (we realize that not every business that supports us shares our same philosophy) at this site https://www.facebook.com/DotsDinerNOLA/app_303561899745219
3. Drop off a donation of canned or bagged cat or dog food to our community pet food bank which we coordinate with Animal Medical Center,4800 Magazine Street. Drop off anytime Monday through Sunday.
