Dear Veggie Friends,

At least once a month, I devote an hour or two picking up litter, usually out of one of our neighborhood canals, which are often choked with trash and debris.  Picking up litter is a great way to connect and commune with nature on a very deep level.  If any of you would like to join me on some Sunday, just let me know at [address removed].

Also, if any of you are crazy about animals, like I am,  and want to see them thrive, consider donating a modest amount each month to the humane society I work for.  In return for your contribution, you'll know that you'll have about one dozen people (and dozens more around the state) working non-stop to help animals in need.  We presently care for more than 200 animals at our two no-kill sanctuaries, lobby for protective measures on the local, state and federal levels, investigate cruelty complaints in all 64 parishes, and visit schools and college campuses, educating young people on the humane treatment of animals.

To support this life-saving work, register here: and know that you gift will be used each and every month in the best way possible and will be credited to your "good Karma" account!

All the best,
