How do I stop the political emails???? This is supposed to be for vegan/vegetarian meet ups not Medicaid.... I know a majority of vegans are liberals but it is very wrong to assume that everyone is.
Animal rights have nothing to do with Medicaid/Medicare. The government is not going to be in charge of my life THANK YOU!

These numbers should speak for themselves, but Governor Bobby Jindal can't hear them. Eleanora,
> If you have a family of three in Louisiana, and you make $4,685 a year, you can qualify for help with health coverage through Medicaid.
> But if you make one dollar more, you get no help -- even though you almost certainly still can't afford to keep your family healthy.
> That's what the Jindal Gap does: Because Governor Bobby Jindal won't say "yes" to Medicaid expansion, upwards of 240,000 Louisianians are stuck in this gap. They make too much to qualify for traditional assistance, but too little to afford coverage in the new health care exchange.
> They're left with no options and no health coverage. It's wrong, and it's hurting people.
> Since you've signed my petition to Governor Jindal, I know you agree. Click here to address an email to your friends and family asking them to join you and sign the petition, too.
> If Governor Jindal would just make the right decision, these 240,000 uninsured Louisianians could start getting health coverage.
> That would mean a family of three that earns up to $27,000 would now be able to get coverage without sacrificing food or rent. It would mean vital, life-saving mammograms for moms, prostate exams for dads, and checkups for their kids.
> It would also mean that Louisianians' tax dollars stop paying for this same federally provided health coverage in other states without returning anything to our own people.
> These numbers speak for themselves, but even with our voices, Governor Jindal still won't budge. We need more people to join us.
> I'm sure you have a friend or two who believes this issue is as important as you do. Address a quick email to them today and ask them to sign our petition, too.
> If Louisiana and the 23 other states that have said NO to this expansion said YES instead, 5.7 million uninsured Americans would gain access to health coverage. We must keep fighting to make this right.
