July Potluck at the Center is next Sunday the 18th at 3pm!

Who's over this heat? I know I am! Time to escape the dog days of summer at our July potluck, indoors once again at the Center.

As always, we ask everyone to bring a vegan dish to share (no meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy or honey). No RSVP is necessary, but it encourages others to attend. If you know what you're bringing, please note it in your RSVP so we can avoid having multiples of the same dish. (Potluck fee is $5 if you bring a dish, $12 without.)

We?re making our monthly potlucks as environmentally friendly as possible! Our plates, cups and utensils are reusable Preserve ware, made from recycled--and recyclable!--plastic, and our napkins are made from recycled paper. (If we ever have more people than cups, our backup cups are biodegradable, made from corn.)

Shep, one of our longtime members, takes our scraps for the compost pile in his community garden. Everyone is welcome to take home leftovers--pack some Tupperware just in case--but instead of dumping what remains on our plates into the garbage, we'll be scraping it into a container for composting. Thanks, Shep!

And as always, the Center has recycling bins for bottles and cans, so please don't throw any recyclables in the trash. (To be current on recycling in NYC check out this link here and this one here).

To make things even eco-friendlier (and to make less work for those of us doing the dishes): Consider bringing your own reusable utensils, cloth napkin and to-go cup!

Thanks for helping us keep it green! We hope to see you at a potluck soon.
