Heights of Borderlands Tour

Join the VeloDCity group for this inaugural tour of Washington's Ward 7, 8 and briefly Prince Georges County's Hillcrest Height neighborhood. This section of the city features many unknown gems such as the Anacostia Community Museum, Frederick Douglas' third residence and two civil war forts(Carroll and Dupont). For cycling enthusiast, the route involves some of the most hilly sections of the entire District of Columbia.

Starting/Ending Point: Eastern Market metro station(orange/blue line)

Total Distance: 30 miles
Terrain: Rolling with many steep sections
Est Elevation: +1500ft/-1490ft
Highlights: Wards 8 & 7, Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum, the Big Chair and Fort Dupont

• LIABILITY WAIVER WILL NEED TO BE SIGNED BEFORE THE RIDE
• All rides are 'No Drop', for nobody will be left behind.
• ID, spare tube, bike lock/cable are recommended .
• Snacks and liquids can be purchased.
• The event will be canceled/postponed if it rains.
