Verge Message Board › Why 60 Startups Will Present This Thursday (And How You Can Join)
Some call it “conducting market research.” Startup founders call it “pitching.”
The art of the pitch isn’t only about presentation. And you can never get enough practice delivering your value prop in the wild. It’s a complex beast where mastery can only be attained (if ever) with repeat exposure and experience. That’s why I’m so excited about this week.
This Thursday we’re filling the Dallara Indycar Factory with over 60 fundable companies from around the country. At this year’s Innovation Showcase, you’ll find founders from every walk of life in varying stages of the startup lifecycle. More importantly, you’ll get to see each of them give their elevator pitch. But how do you boil all that value and hard work into just 60 seconds?
I’d bet you that, collectively, these founders have practiced their pitches over 100,000 times. With each iteration, great entrepreneurs alter their approach, finding what resonates and what doesn’t—constantly sharpening their saw.
We witnessed this at last month’s Verge event, where two founders used their own market research to direct their business models. And you’ll see it again this Thursday when you join us for The Innovation Showcase.
If you haven’t grabbed a ticket already, you can still reserve your spot and join hundreds of investors, founders, and members of the startup community as we celebrate over 60 startups, and one lucky company that we’ll announce as the winner of a $60,000 prize package.
I hope you can make it to explore the startup tradeshow and see 60 back-to-back pitches from some of the areas most compelling startups.
PS You an join the conversation early with the hashtag #InnoShow13. Look for bonus content and info about some of our presenting companies!
