FirefoxOS DevTreff Austria

a community event: we want to host a special version of viennaJS, a DevTreff (a.k.a. meetup withour using the word meetup) where we talk, learn and demo cool FirefoxOS stuff.

Currently we have 4 awesome FireofxOS Talks! This event is a go, and it's going to be awesome.

Note: this is a community event and is not in any way affiliated with mozilla. (But we hope they will send a speaker!)

    thank u all for attending!
it was awesome that so many showed up!
I think we have to do it again in the new year :)

I'm very sorry that this location was not barrier-free. It made (and still makes) me really sad that we had to send one FxOS fan with a wheelchair away :(. Nxt time better planning from our side - I promise!

    resources of the given talks:
    - franz's viennaJS app
    - FxOS & Cordova by thomas dori
    - html5 offline strategies by david pichsenmeister
    - FxOS payments by raphael (me) cheers raphael

hiho, after some back and forth with mozilla (which were very enthusiastic and supportive about this firefoxos community event) we have a mozillia keynote speaker he will talk about (topic, not final title)
"Why Firefox OS, what is it and where is it going?"

    I would say, to schedule/manage 5+ talks
presenters should plan their talks as follows,
you get max 20min (my advice would be: 15min talk + 5 min Q&A) - shorter is of course okay, in case when there is more time available at the event you could talk longer and still have Q&A, but plan to stick to max 20min with everything.

    talks so far:
    - short intro to 1st DevTreff

    - "from zero to FxOS hero - the simplest awesome FxOS app I could think off" by Franz Enzenhofer

    - "how to integrate FxOS in the dev process of a HTML5 web app (w/PhoneGap)" by Thomas Dori

    - "porting a WebGL game to FxOS" by Thomas Perl

    - "paid apps & in-app payment w/FxOS" by Raphael Stary

    - "offline strategies for webapps" by David Pichsenmeister

hi raphael, we will get a speaker from mozilla who will give a keynote like talk, something about "Why Firefox OS, what is it and where is it going?" - i'm currently in talks with the mozilla people, more details hopefully soon. cheers franz (if this would make the meetup to long, then i will my talk shorter, but hey, i coded an awessom viennajs firefox os app )

I am not in Vienna then I'm afraid. Sounds interesting, especially after some of the makers of FirefoxOS contacted our Apache DeviceMap/OpenDDR team about synergies. Happy to talk about that at a proper date...
