Howdy, folks.

I have become aware of other locations off the grid as a result of just looking around.

There is an ADVANCED Vb pickup group that plays on Saturday Nights from 930 pm until 2 AM in South Carroll County in a private gym. The cost is; Your gas to get there and back. It is one court, high ceilings, high level players (USAV A/AA), very strenuous, very tiring and a real workout. It is west of Liberty Road on the west side of Baltimore. These players are Very serious.

There is an indoor VB court in Upper Marlboro at their Community Center.

Old Town VB plays outside in warm and dry weather at Lee Memorial Park. However, there are THREE outdoor sand courts along North Union Road, one block from the Potomac River. By the VEPCO power plant is Oronoco Park, very near the water, too close for comfort but a court is a court. Founders Park has a very nice sand court, in the middle of the park. But having an extra player to corral errant balls heading towards the River would be helpful. Lee Memorial Park is closest to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. This is the court most used by the bar crowd on Sunday mornings.

Founders Park is higher level and they play from about 11 am until maybe 3 pm. Bring your own Cold beverages.

University of Maryland has two sand courts with shin deep white sand. These are on Denton Beach, I believe. Level of play is not very competitive, all in all, nor disciplined.

Olney Manor Park has TWO sand courts............with Lights.......many evenings, after dark, there is pickup sand volleyball there until 11 PM. Bathrooms are nearby.

The Ellipse has 11 sand courts in various states of disrepair and lack of sand. They are down there between the Kennedy Center & the Jefferson Memorial, on the way to the Memorial Bridge leading to Arlington Cemetery.

There are two sand courts in Rockville City proper. One is at Glen Ora Park, off of Hurley Boulevard and the other one is in College Gardens by the intersection with Yale Drive.

There is a FREE Volleyball court on 3 of 4 Friday nights monthly in Arlington worth checking out. It is a nice gym Contact me directly.

There is a FREE Volleyball gym in upper NW DC on Thursday nights and Saturday afternoons with free parking. Contact me for further details.

That is about it for now. Check back later.
