Don Beyer Volvo
The Washington Volvo Club (WVC) concludes the 2012 DIY series with a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) technical session at Don Beyer Volvo, Falls Church from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 8, 2010. Their location is 1117 West Broad Street (Route 7, inside the Beltway), Falls Church, VA 22046.
Don Beyer Falls Church (DBFC) has Saturday service for their customers, and therefore WVC will have the use of a limited number of their lifts. We hope to attract a good group who will accomplish normal maintenance tasks. The Don Beyer Service Manager will be on hand to answer our questions and give us guidance as we work on our own Volvos with our own tools. The technicians are NOT there to fix your car. They offer guidance only.
Don Beyer’s parts department will be open during the DIY session, and WVC requires you to use it for the parts you need during the session. Remember that DBFC grants a generous discount on genuine Volvo parts to all WVC members showing a current membership card. It’s a good idea for you to contact their parts department at least a week in advance of the DIY session, to ensure that they’ll have all the parts you’ll need, and/or to allow for any parts that have to be special ordered to be delivered to DBFC in time for the DIY.
This DIY is not intended for major repairs that cannot be completed within the allocated time period. All Club members are expected to bring their own tools, and to perform their own work. We encourage our Members who are not yet on the lifts to help out when an extra pair of hands is needed, and we are always happy to show newcomers the joys of simple maintenance activities.
Participation is on a strict preregistration basis through WVC only; please do not contact DBFC for this purpose. You may pre-register by completing all items on the registration form and mailing it, along with a non-refundable fee of $20. Your check should be made payable to Washington Volvo Club, or pay online securely with PayPal. You will be notified of your registration status during the week before the DIY. (Please be aware that if you don’t postmark your check and preregistration form by December 1, and if we can still accommodate you, which we can’t guarantee, then the fee will go up to $35.) Remember that WVC no longer allows walk-up registrations at DIYs, so if you want to participate, then be sure to get your registration in post haste!
This is the last of four DIYs at Don Beyer this year. Please think of your maintenance requirements, pre-register early, and join us at this great location. WVC has set a limit on pre-registration and we will be giving preference to those who get their registrations in early. This DIY will also feature our mini-Christmas party during the usual lunch time, to show our appreciation for Don Beyer Falls Church and their tremendous support of our club. Tom Conti is the Club Officer of the Day to assist us for this DIY.
