Opening Celebration of SF's New "Hidden Garden Steps"

Free. We will meet in front of a Starbucks near Irving and 9th Avenue, and then walk as a group over to the opening celebrations of the new "Hidden Garden Steps." One should bring food to eat at the celebration. It is the second mosaic stairway in that neighborhood. The first one known simply as "The Mosaic Stairway," at 16th Ave. & Moraga, is one of the best mosaic stairways on Earth. Also, meeting in front of this Starbucks will give us a chance to talk together about different things such as the SF Botanical Gardens as we walk over to the celebration about 8 blocks away. This Starbucks is right next to the N Judah Rail Line.
The below information was provided to us from our member Sherry Boschert who helped make the Hidden Garden Steps the big success it is today:
YOU'RE INVITED to an opening celebration of the Hidden Garden Steps stairway mosaic on Saturday, December 7 from 12 noon to 4 pm.
We'll have a block party (closed to traffic) on 16th Avenue between Judah and Kirkham in SF's Inner Sunset:
12:00-2:00 pm Bring a dish or drinks and share a potluck meal
1:00-1:30 pm Ribbon cutting ceremony and bubble blowing (BYOBubbles)
1:30-2:30 pm A fire engine from Station 22 visits (Climb on it!)
2:00-3:00 pm Musical program and sing-along

Cookies and drinks at the upper Steps, 16th Avenue at Lawton

An electric car shuttle between lower and upper Steps sites for those who can’t climb, courtesy of the Golden Gate Electric Vehicle Association

2 pm "Hoop-la at the Steps" hula hoop flash mob (BYOHula hoop)

A "Little Free Library" for a day -- take a book or leave a book
