CSS: Positioning & Layouts (4-class series)

  • Feb 4, 2014 · 6:15 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This course picks up where our CSS Basics class left off - we'll explain positioning and layouts, probably the most challenging part of CSS. Practice is key to understanding layouts, so we'll work through exercises and examples that demonstrate each of the different techniques.

Whether you're relatively new to CSS, or you've had your fair share of trying to sort out terms such as float, fixed, relative, and absolute, we bet you'll walk away from this class saying, "I'm starting to really get this!"

Pre-requisites: An understanding of HTML and knowledge of how to use CSS to style HTML elements. If you've had our CSS Basics course, you're set! Not sure if you are ready? Try this 3-question quiz!

Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm (Doors open at 6:00pm to get a good seat and get set up)

Class 1 - February 4th: Layout approaches

Class 2 - February 11th: Fixed positioning

Class 3 - February 18th: Absolute and relative positioning

Class 4 - February 25th: Float

Has anyone watched the video for class 3? I might be missing something obvious, but it looks like it's only 4:50 long?

Update: The local file was the full length, but corrupt. Going to re-export, than re-upload...should take several hours so I'll be sure to post the new link when done!

Thanks Susan. This is an awesome class. I am learning all those little details that were stumbling blocks for me. It really makes a difference to be there in person but I love that you have this video as back-up.

If you missed Class 2 of 4 and want access to the video recording, send me an email at [masked].
