This is pricey but it is the biggest Linux conference in North America and this year it is in Chicago. Lots of tracks, talks and events.
Linuxcon is August 20-22 but there are several pre-con events on August 18-19.
If you can't afford to go, there may be a chance to volunteer in exchange for going to the conference.
Use the code LCMeetup15 to get a 15% discount on the conference. There is also a Network Pass and Student Registration for those who want a lower cost option.
If you really want to go and can't afford it, contact me (Mike McCune).

I'm pretty easy to spot. I have a green Army medic bag with digital camouflage.

Hey Mike, I'm still in Chicagoland. Worked at Fermilab until 2 years ago when I joined Red Hat.
I guess that beats Linux Care!
If you can't make it to the conference, there are live video streams available. http://events.linuxfoundation.org/events/linuxcon-north-america/program/live-video-stream
